Dear Bernard,

I am writing for your valued social advice.  My wife and I will of course be entertaining this Christmas period, just before we jet off to our luxury holiday island villa. But we are both concerned of the rumours that this year there maybe an national shortage of Prosecco and we are concerned what to serve our friends and neighbours at our social gatherings.

kind regards

Gerald Brown Smythe

Dear Gerry

The national shortage of Processo will be of great concern to many people of Bosworth.  But Prosecco is just a passing fad, you'll remember a number of years ago when we were all drinking Lambrini.  Whilst most people need that 'I'm better than you drink' whilst posing for pictures with one hand on hip and pouting like a duck there are many other alternatives to a glass of the latest fad drink.  This year we will be serving the usual at mine and Beryl get togethers.

Blue Nun

Moët & Chandon Dom Pérignon

Louis Roederer Cristal

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2005

Bollinger Special Cuvée

Bollinger La Grande Année Brut 2005

I will also be serving a full range of full bodied reds and dry whites, a comprehensive range of labeled spirits, WKD, Bacardi Breezers, Smirnoff Ice, Special Brew, White Lightning and Stella Artois.

I do hope this helps and I really do hope you enjoy your post Christmas holiday by the sounds of it - you'll need it and I understand Pontins on the Isle of Wight is a pleasant holiday location.
