Hello Bosworth is ecstatic over the news that Market Bosworth is through to next year’s final of the boat race on The Thames. The final of the boat race has been monopolised by Oxford and Cambridge since the first race in 1829 and then every year from 1856, but next year the two usual finalists failed make the grade. This year Market Bosworth will compete against Barnstaple, infamous in the rowing world. Readers will have probably seen the blur of the local team practising on the canal. Gerald Cox team manager is over the moon with Market Bosworth's success. He said that 'The whole team has pulled together to reach the final, even with changes in team due to pregnancy and the tragic news of Norris Grass who sadly lost a limb in a freak stamp collecting accident.

Plans are being put together for the day of the final for the whole town to come together. Barry Colgate has been charged with arranging the day, a 3000" screen is to be erected in The Park for fans to watch the race, a fun fair, circus and the local WI will be supplying tea, coffee and cakes with a riparian twist. The after race party includes live music from Market Bosworth choir singing the greatest hits of Kajagoogoo and Eminem.
